Kitchen Cabinet Crown Molding Installation
Set your miter saw to 45 degrees.
Kitchen cabinet crown molding installation. Using a nail gun nail the crown to the baseboard. Dry fit the crown molding by holding the front piece and a side piece against the front and side of the baseboard image 1. Set the miter saw to a 45 degree angle cut. Next hold up the piece to the side of the cabinet flush against the wall and mark where you ll make a 45 degree cut for the corner.
Place the crown molding so that it is rests upside down and at a 45 degree angle against the saw fence. Use a pin nailer to nail into the corners of the two pieces of crown molding image 2. Use one long strip for a row of cabinets the same depth then apply wood glue to each strip nail it in place and let dry. Cut at one mark then move the molding along to the next mark.
Cut strips of straight 3 4 in x 1 1 2 in wood to fit the front and sides of each cabinet. Make sure the pieces are together and in place snugly. Measure out and cut a length of crown molding that is at least a few inches longer than the side of your cabinet. Measure and mark the front section of crown molding to the cabinet width.
